About Jesse
Jesse Kauffman is a licensed clinical social worker and founder of Atelier Therapy, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He specializes in helping adults with ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression better understand themselves and create healthier, more fulfilling lives.
His approach focuses on helping neurodivergent clients reconnect with their mind, heart, and body. He combines practical strategies with deeper emotional exploration to help clients build confidence, improve relationships, and work with their unique brain differences instead of against them.
Jesse has extensive experience working with adults who feel different, overwhelmed, distracted, or stuck. His therapy style incorporates curiosity, acceptance, and creativity while drawing from approaches including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mind-body techniques.
He offers therapy in person in Ann Arbor and online for clients located in Michigan, California, Colorado, and Wisconsin.

Questions Jesse is often asked
Can I go to therapy just to talk?
Absolutely. Therapy isn’t just for crisis moments—it’s a space to process thoughts, explore emotions, and gain insight. You don’t need a “big reason” to benefit from it.
Is therapy worth it?
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just unsure of your next step, therapy can help. It’s an investment in clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper understanding of yourself.
Does therapy go on your permanent record?
Because I do not accept insurance as payment, therapy is completely confidential. Insurance companies are allowed to look at medical records by law, so out of respect for my clients I do not work with insurers. Your information is protected. The only exception is if you seek reimbursement from your insurance company for out-of-network care, they can request your records.
What kind of therapy is best for neurodivergent people?
Therapy should fit the individual, not the other way around. I use a tailored approach, drawing from ADHD and Autism-focused therapy, breathwork, and strategies that honor how your brain works best. Above all, you deserve to work with a therapist who feels like a right fit for you.
What does neurodivergent burnout feel like?
It often looks like exhaustion, shutdown, irritability, loss of motivation, or a deep sense of being overwhelmed. Many describe it as feeling like their usual coping strategies just stop working. If this sounds familiar, please join me for a session – I’d love to help you.
What insurances and forms of payment do you accept?
I do not accept any insurance plans at this time. Therapy sessions are $310 and are availabe in my Ann Arbor therapy space or online throughout MI, WI, CA, and CO.
